![]() ![]() Paramount was more forthcoming with their 30 second Dark of the Moon Super Bowl XLV spot (as well as subsequent TV spots) showing some interesting hybrid vehicle/robot combat modes - as well as the large-scale Decepticon invasion in Chicago. The last hour involves a battle for the universe which for some reason is held at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive in Chicago. ![]() It was a clever piece of marketing (and a fun nod to the teaser for Transformers - which featured "found footage" of Starscream destroying the Mars rover) but didn't give much indication of the story or the tone of the upcoming sequel. The series exists to show gigantic and hideous robots hammering one another. While the teaser trailer garnered a lot of industry buzz as a result of its clever portrayal of the Apollo 11 mission as, not just a small step for mankind, but an investigation of a crashed alien space-ship on the moon. Recently, we reported on Michael Bay's candid commentary regarding the next film about the "Robots in Disguise" - with the director promising a giant Cybertronian-focused adventure with a much better story. Furthermore, Albert Film Ratings has confirmed that the trailer itself (not the final film) has been rated PG and runs 2:24 in length. According to a comment from Shoot for the Edit admin, Nelson, the new full length Dark of the Moon trailer will debut on Apple at 7pm EST on April 28th - prior to Fast Five midnight screenings. Dark of the Moon is the third film in Bays Transformers series, and the first without star Megan Fox. ![]()
